Primal Scream Preview New Album At Intimate London Show
Primal Scream bassist Mani paid tribute to Swedish Furniture store Ikea as the band performed an intimate show in London this morning (June 22nd).
The bassist was in high spirits throughout the gig, reacting to cries of “Mani!” as Primal Scream previewed songs from their forthcoming new album ‘Beautiful Future’.
Taking to the 222 venue stage just after midnight, the group opened their set with new single ‘Can’t Go Back’, which proved to already be a firm favourite with their fans.
Frontman Bobby Gillespie, who was dressed in a glitter effect shirt and smart black trousers, provided little interaction with the crowd in between the nights other new songs, the robust and bass driven ‘Uptown’ and the title track from the record itself.
But, as the gig progressed, each band member visibly relaxed, with guitarist Andrew Innes sharing frequent and jubilant exchanges with Mani.
Primal Scream were joined midway through their set by the female violinist from Le Volume Courbe, who are currently supporting My Bloody Valentine at their Roundhouse residency.
As expected, the biggest reactions of the night were saved for songs from the bands back-catalogue, including ‘Rocks Off’ and ‘Movin’ On Up’.
A bass heavy version of ‘Swastika Eyes’ was the pinnacle of the bands set, with Innes providing absorbing and angular guitar riffs.
After a thee song encore and nearly an hour and a half on stage, Gillespie finally seemed to have relaxed - his arms swaying as the final note of the night was struck.
'Beautiful Future' is released on July 26th.

Snow Patrol Begin Work On Next Album
Snow Patrol are working on the follow-up to their 2006 album 'Eyes Open', says frontman Gary Lightbody.
The singer says of the fifth album, "The first week is behind us and things are going great. Some loveliness is happening and it's very exciting to hear songs I've been demoing over the last year or more spring to noise-covered life."
Lightbody then went on to describe the location where writing was held: "We are in the depths of Ireland living in a little house by a lake making guitar shaped noise by day and making guitar shaped pasta by night. As the sun goes down the bats come out."
"We've now moved away from the bats and frogs (oh there were frogs too, a stagnant swimming pool saw to that, frogs are marvellous, we made them ramps to get in and out of the receding water in the filthy pool) to right bang in the geographical centre of the island of Ireland to start the album."

Fried In London

Blending styles like ska, punk, and hardcore, King Prawn delivers a contrastive type of fierce alternative rock-and-roll & roll. Formed in the thick of the '90s in London by vocalist Al-Farabi Rumjen, Barbar Luck (bass), Aryan Devil (guitar), and Nick Swindonboye (drums), King Prawn is set to give away new frontiers in the hood and hard-core styles. In 1996, the band surfaced with its get-go major recording, the album Outset Offence, with production credits going to Skunk Anansie's Ace. The criminal record at long last created a considerable bombinate all across the local resistance music picture, consequently granting Prawn with a healthy and ever-growing fan legion, not only when in London, just as well all across the U.K. Three age subsequently and next the sack of various 7" records, the British squad issued its second base uncut record, the alive record album Deep-fried in London, that hit record stores in 1998. Your Worst Enemy, Prawn's third recording, showed up in 1999, one twelvemonth earlier yet some other record, the EP Day in Day Out. The three-song EP Someone to Hate arrived in 2000, and Surrender to the Blender, the band's minute full-length record, came out that same year.
